For this reason, you may need to roll back a
set of files, folders or server volumes several days following a
crippling virus attack. Most antivirus software programs do an
excellent job of cleaning infections and make this exercise a
rarity.
Yet, your best protection and peace of mind
during a severe virus outbreak is knowing that you have the ability
to roll back your data anywhere from one to several days to reach
its pre-infection state.
For a full or selective rollback to work
properly, you must be using a multi-tape data backup rotation
scheme, much like the simple 20-tape system we discussed in Chapter
6.
